Two Day Multi-Age Option - Our regular two day program is a multiage program for three to five year olds that introduces children to the alphabet, numbers 0 - 10, basic shapes and colors. We are on a three year rotating thematic curriculum. If a child is at Sunshine for three years, each year the themes will be different and new. Next year our fall theme will be circus! It is lots of fun.
Three Day - Add Friday Morning Option - If your child is age four or five and enrolled in any two day multiage class, they are eligible to come on Friday mornings. The curriculum for this third day option will include more academic skills that will help prepare your child for Kindergarten. Several field trips and cooking projects are planned for this class. Sometime during the school year each Friday student will be chosen to be a “Friday Friend.” They will make a drawing of themselves like those that you have seen displayed in the classrooms. This Friday option has proven to be a fun and beneficial time for pre-kindergarten students.
Three Day - Pre-Kindergarten Class Option - This class is the only class that is not multiage. It is for four and five year olds who are pre-kindergarten ONLY. This three day class is offered on Monday/Wednesday/Friday afternoons. The class is limited to 20 students. The curriculum is the same as the other classes with the addition of advanced books and activities that will be more challenging for these older students. This has been a popular option. We have had a waiting list to get into this class every year.
