Family Events
Sunshine Preschool believes that family participation is an important factor in education. To support this concept, we offer a variety of events throughout the school year that actively engage family members in activities with the children.
Family events include:
- Monthly chapel service
- Christmas program
- Spring program
- Easter Bunny Breakfast
- Grandparents Day
- Family field trips
Detailed information about each family event is included below.
Monthly Chapel Service
We hold a monthly chapel service for Sunshine students and their families. Chapel service dates will appear on the monthly calendar. The twenty minute services are held at the beginning of each class period on the scheduled dates. All services will be in Hosanna’s Garden Chapel.
Christmas Program
Sunshine Preschool students celebrate Christmas with a musical program held in Hosanna’s Garden Chapel. The students put a lot of work into the event, and are proud to share the joy of the season with their families.
The Christmas Program is held the last day of school before Christmas vacation, during each regular class session.
Spring Program
Every spring the preschool classes put on a musical program for their families that features things they learned throughout the school year. The programs coordinate with the annual themes. The program is followed by a pot luck lunch with all the students and their families.
Easter Bunny Breakfast
The Easter Bunny Breakfast is a family friendly event with carnival style games and activities. It includes an Easter egg hunt and a family photo with the Easter Bunny.
The proceeds from this event support the Sunshine Preschool scholarship fund.
Grandparents Day
Grandparents Day is for our 4 to 5 year old students in the three day programs. Each session is filled with fun, interactive activities for children and their grandparents.
Grandparents Day is held on a Friday in both the morning and afternoon classes, and grandparents are invited to spend their student’s entire class session with us. Activities include music, games, exercises, special stories, a snack and a keepsake project. We appreciate the effort all the grandparents make to attend. Our goal is to create lasting family memories.
Family Field Trips
Field trips are coordinated with annual themes in mind, so if your child attends Sunshine for several years, you will enjoy at least 3 different family field trips.
We receive many requests for family members to attend field trips. We designate at least one field trip each year for families. Information for all field trips is provided in advance of the event. The cost for each field trip varies.
Important: Due to space and program limitations, we are unable to allow family members to attend every field trip. Because of this, we cannot allow parents who volunteer to chaperone trips to bring additional siblings.
