Daily Class Schedule

Sunshine Preschool is open Monday through Friday, with sessions in the morning and afternoon.

• Morning sessions are 9:15 – 11:45
• Afternoon sessions are 12:30 – 3:00

Every class session is organized around our daily schedule, which is a developmentally appropriate curriculum of well-rounded activities. Preschool class activities in the daily schedule are applied to the daily theme.

Daily Theme

Every day has a theme in the preschool classes, and each day’s activities are planned around the theme. This enhances learning comprehension and retention by allowing children to explore many facets of a topic in a variety of ways.

We encourage family members to participate in our daily themes by discussing the topics at home or planning your own related activities. The preschool class calendar details upcoming themes.

Daily Schedule

Activity	Description
Opening	Free play choice at activity centers and small group teacher directed activities.
Group Time	Discussion, Pledge of Allegiance, calendar, weather, stories, songs and finger plays.
Large Motor	Indoor or outdoor (weather permitting) playtime involving physical activity.
Snack Time	A healthy snack is served with juice or milk. We often plan our snacks so they’re related to the daily theme.
Book Time	A quiet, free choice opportunity to explore books.
Music	Teacher led songs, movement, and rhythm activities.
Group Time	Show and Tell, stories, math and science activities.
Projects	Planned art activity centered on the daily theme.
Play Time	Free choice play at activity centers. The children are free to explore the preschool’s educational materials, dramatic play area, large and small muscle equipment, blocks, special materials and equipment as they relate to the daily theme.
Closing	Teacher-led discussion encouraging the children to review the day’s activities.
